Eph Receptors in the Immunosuppressive Tumor Microenvironment

چکیده

Abstract The tumor microenvironment (TME) promotes development via complex intercellular signaling, aiding growth and suppressing immunity. Eph receptors (Eph) their ephrin ligands control cell interactions during normal development, reemerge in tumors the TME, where they are implicated invasion, metastasis, angiogenesis. Recent studies also indicate roles for Ephs immune responses by controlling with innate adaptive cells within TME. Accordingly, inhibiting these functions can promote response efficacy of checkpoint inhibition. This research highlights as potential targets to enhance immune-based therapies patients cancer.

Reg3β contributes to the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment in pancreatic cancer

Reg3β is up-regulated in serum and pancreatic juice from patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. However, whether such expression is relevant to the development of tumors has not yet been carefully examined. We have recently demonstrated that silencing Reg3β in a pancreatic cancer model impaired tumor growth by skewing macrophage polarization. Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) con...

Immunosuppressive Microenvironment in Neuroblastoma

According to the cancer immunoediting model, the interplay between tumor cells and the host immune system is crucial for the control of tumor growth. NB is a pediatric tumor that presents with metastatic disease at diagnosis in about 50% of the cases, the majority of which have poor prognosis. In this Review article, immune escape pathways adopted by human neuroblastoma (NB) cells are reviewed....

EPH receptors in cancer.

EPH receptors and their ephrin ligands constitute the largest sub-family of receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs) and are components of cell signaling pathways involved in animal development. The ability of the EPH/ephrin guidance system to position cells and modulate cell morphology underlies their various roles in development. In addition, EPH signaling plays an important role in oncogenic process...

The Role of Chemoattractant Receptors in Shaping the Tumor Microenvironment

Chemoattractant receptors are a family of seven transmembrane G protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) initially found to mediate the chemotaxis and activation of immune cells. During the past decades, the functions of these GPCRs have been discovered to not only regulate leukocyte trafficking and promote immune responses, but also play important roles in homeostasis, development, angiogenesis, and ...

Eph Receptors Tingle the Spine

During the development of excitatory synapses, molecules cluster on dendrites to form postsynaptic densities, and specialized structures known as spines appear. EphB2 is demonstrated to control this process by associating with and phosphorylating a key postsynaptic molecule, syndecan-2, thereby initiating the maturation of dendritic spines.
